LONDONINEOS has restarted operations through the Forties Pipeline System (FPS) in the UK central North Sea.

The system had been shut down last month after a routine maintenance check uncovered issues with an onshore section in eastern Scotland.

All restrictions on the flow of oil and gas from the various UK and Norwegian platforms feeding into the pipeline system have been lifted, INEOS added, and virtually all platforms are now back online.

The Kinneil reception terminal in central Scotland has also re-started, while loading of crude oil from Hound Point should resume this weekend.

INEOS recently assumed operatorship of the FPS from BP.
