DSM working on moorings for semisub offshore Norway

Deep Sea Mooring has started work on providing pre-lay mooring products and services to Odfjell Drilling’s semisubmersible Deepsea Bergen offshore Norway.

STRAUME, Norway – Vryhof subsidiary Deep Sea Mooring (DSM) has started work on providing pre-lay mooring products and services to Odfjell Drilling’s semisubmersible Deepsea Bergen offshore Norway.

OMV has deployed the rig for a drilling program.

DSM is managing operations from its equipment base in Mongstad, Norway. It will provide chain, fiber ropes, anchors, connectors, buoyancy and handling equipment, in addition to mobilization and demobilization services.

TheDeepsea Bergen is due to start a drilling contract for Statoil next month on Norwegian production license 167, following approval from the Petroleum Safety Authority.

The rig will drill exploration well 16/1-29 S: drilling could continue for 37 days, depending on whether a discovery follows.
