Sparrows to maintain Dubai Petroleum’s offshore cranes

ABERDEEN, UKDubai Petroleum has awarded Sparrows Group two crane contracts.

The is a five-year maintenance deal covering 76 cranes and associated systems across all the operator’s offshore fields.

Sparrows’ remit includes developing a maintenance strategy, with technical personnel working on-site, with a dedicated crane operator instructor.

The other, three-year agreement, involves the provision of rental cranes to support Dubai Petroleum’s well intervention activities. Sparrows will supply modular temporary cranes and all associated equipment, including skidding systems.

As part of the scope, the company’s specialist engineering personnel will support commissioning, operations and decommissioning of the cranes, including delivery of installation plans and post set-up structural assessments, and preventive maintenance to improve reliability and safety.

The cranes will be supplied with a variety of boom sections, allowing them to be modified to suit different lifting requirements on the various offshore installations.
