US Gulf of Mexico drilling rig count holds steady for fourth week in a row

The US Gulf of Mexico rig count remained unchanged for the fourth week in a row, according to the latest Baker Hughes rig count.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexicorig count remained unchanged for the fourth week in a row, holding steady at 21, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of June 30, 2017. That number (21) is up by three year-over-year.

The overall US offshore drilling rig count fell by one, from 22 to 21. The additional rig was a unit that had been working offshore Alaska. That number is up by two year-over-year.

The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was down by one week-over-week at 940, with oil rigs down by two to 756, gas rigs up by one to 184, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at zero.

Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is up by 509, with oil rigs up by 415, gas rigs up by 95, and miscellaneous rigs down by one.
