US Gulf of Mexico drilling rig count holds steady for third week in a row

The US Gulf of Mexico rig count remained unchanged for the third week in a row according to the latest Baker Hughes weekly rig count.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count remained unchanged for the third week in a row, holding steady at 21, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of June 23, 2017. That number (21) is up by one year-over-year.

The overall US offshore drilling rig count also remains unchanged, holding steady at 22. That number is up by one year-over-year.

The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by eight week-over-week at 941, with oil rigs up by 11 to 758, gas rigs down by three to 183, and miscellaneous rigs down by one.

Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is up by 520, with oil rigs up by 428, gas rigs up by 93, and miscellaneous rigs down by one.
