HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count remained unchanged for the fifth week in a row, holding steady at 21, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of July 7, 2017. That number (21) is up by three year-over-year.
The overall US offshore drilling rig count also remained steady, mirroring the US GoM rig count at 21. That number is up by two year-over-year.
The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by 12 week-over-week at 952, with oil rigs up by seven to 763, gas rigs up by five to 189, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at zero.
Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is up by 512, with oil rigs up by 412, gas rigs up by 101, and miscellaneous rigs down by one.
