OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has sanctioned use of the jackup Maersk Interceptor for an exploration well in block 25/2 in the North Sea.
The rig should spud the well on theNordfjellet prospect next month for operator Aker BP. Water depth at the site is 120 m (393 ft).
Norske Shell also has permission from PSA to use the well intervention vesselIsland Constructor for start-up of well 6407/9-G-5 on the Draugen field in the Norwegian Sea, in either August or September.
Draugen is an oil field in 250 m (820 ft) of water, developed using a fixed concrete platform with an integrated deck. Stabilized oil is stored in tanks in the base of the facility.
