LONDON – Aker BP has ordered surface exploration wellhead equipment from Plexus for the Hyrokkin and Nordfjellet standard pressure exploration wells offshore Norway.
Initial value of the contract is around £0.7 million ($0.91 million), with potential for the contract to be extended to include further wells in the future.
Plexus will supply its new POS-PEED connector, claimed to deliver additional time savings for the operator.
This is a further development of the company’s 18¾-in. POS-GRIP friction-grip method of wellhead engineering through the BOP surface wellhead.
Each well is likely to take around 30 days to drill.
