US Gulf of Mexico drilling rig count holds steady at 21

The US Gulf of Mexico rig count remained unchanged over the past week, according to the latest Baker Hughes rig count.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count remains unchanged over the past week, holding steady at 21, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of June 16, 2017. That number (21) is also unchanged year-over-year.

The overall US offshore drilling rig count also remains unchanged, holding steady at 22. That number is up by one year-over-year.

The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by six week-over-week at 933, with oil rigs up by six to 747, gas rigs up by one to 186, and miscellaneous rigs down by one.

Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is up by 509, with oil rigs up by 410, gas rigs up by 100, and miscellaneous rigs down by one.
