US Gulf of Mexico drilling rig count falls by two to 21

The US Gulf of Mexico rig count fell by two over the past week to 21, according to the latest Baker Hughes weekly rig count.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count fell by two over the past week to 21, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of June 9, 2017. That number (21) is up by one year-over-year.

The overall US offshore drilling rig fell by one to reach 22, as the addition of a rig offshore Alaska mitigated the GoM total. That number (22) is up by one year-over-year.

The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by 11 week-over-week at 927, with oil rigs up by 8 to 741, gas rigs up by three to 185, and miscellaneous rigs up by one.

Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is up by 513, with oil rigs up by 413, gas rigs up by 100, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
