US Gulf of Mexico drilling rig count unchanged for second straight week

The US Gulf of Mexico rig count showed no change over the past week, according to the latest Baker Hughes rig count.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count showed no change over the past week, staying steady at 23, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of June 2, 2017.

That number (23) has remained unchanged for the past two weeks, and is up by three year-over-year.

The overall US offshore drilling rig count mirrored the US GoM rig count, with the only difference being that the overall US offshore count is up by two year-over-year.

The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by eight week-over-week at 916, with oil rigs up by 11 to 733, gas rigs down by three to 182, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at one.

Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is up by 508, with oil rigs up by 408, gas rigs up by 100, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
