The US Gulf of Mexico rig count showed no change over the past week, staying steady at 23, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of May 16, 2017.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexicorig count showed no change over the past week, staying steady at 23, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of May 16, 2017. That number is unchanged year-over-year.

The overallUS offshore drilling rig count mirrored the US GoM rig count, with the only difference being that the overall US offshore count is down by one year-over-year.

The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by seven week-over-week at 908, with oil rigs up by two to 722, gas rigs up by five to 185, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at one.

Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is up by 504, with oil rigs up by 406, gas rigs up by 98, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged.
