LONDON – OvationData has extended its trace management service agreement with PGS to 2023.

In 2013 PGS was seeking a vendor to provide cloud data storage and specialized data services to manage the contractor’s global seismic library. As a result, OvationData secured a five-year service agreement.

Last year PGS was also looking to re-master much of the aging media for conversion to modern high-density media. The company subsequently extended the contract for Ovation to perform this service and to take advantage of improvements in technology.

Steve Murphy, sales manager at OvationData, said: “The agreement has not only been extended in terms of time, but also in scope, and we are offering a wider range of services that encompasses new technology and builds on the experience we have with other clients.”

OvationData operates data centers in London and Houston and provides on-premises and hosted data management services to numerous global E&P companies.
