Green Volt, a joint venture between Flotation Energy and Vårgrønn, is set to become Europe’s first commercial-scale floating wind farm, with a planned generating capacity of 560 MW.
The ultra-high-resolution 3D seismic survey will provide detailed subsurface data for the characterization of the site, 80 km offshore eastern Scotland in the central UK North Sea.
The onboard equipment spread includes a multibeam echo sounder, side scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler and magnetometer sensors. Results should improve geological understanding and provide insights for the project’s site planning and risk assessments.
TGS’ offshore survey crews, geophysicists and onshore geoscientists will collaborate throughout the campaign to deliver processed data and interpretations.
