MMT to inspect integrity of Nord Stream gas pipelines

Nord Stream AG has awarded MMT Sweden a three-year contract to inspect the twin Nord Stream gas pipelines through the Baltic Sea.

ZUG, SwitzerlandNord Stream AG has awarded MMT Sweden a three-year contract to inspect the twin Nord Stream gas pipelines through the Baltic Sea.

The contractor will perform external inspection of the pipelines under itsjoint venture with Reach Subsea over a 15-day period this year.

The scope includes visual and instrumental inspection of the lines with ROVs over the entire length of the route, and inspections of the trenched sections and cable crossings.

Most of the survey will be conducted from the vesselStril Explorer.

Nord Stream AG will use the resultant data in its continued assessment of the pipelines’ integrity.
