ASKER, Norway – TGS plans to expand its NWAAM (northwest Africa Atlantic Margin) multi-client library over the MSGBC basin, in partnership with PGS and GeoPartners.

This involves acquiring more than 11,000 km (6,835 mi) of long-offset broadband 2D seismic data and magnetic/gravity dataoffshore Senegal and Gambia using the seismic vessel, BGP Dong Fang Kan Tan 1.

Under the program, which is under way, a 12-km (7.5-mi) deep-tow streamer will be deployed for recording broadband 2D seismic data that will image the pre-rift, syn-rift, and post-rift plays within the basin.

The NWAAM2017 seismic survey, which has the support of Petrosen in Senegal and the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy in Gambia, is designed to infill, extend, and complement the TGS NWAAM2012 2D survey which assisted the recent commercial discoveries in the MSGBC basin.
