US Gulf of Mexico rig count up by one to 18

The US Gulf of Mexico rig count has picked up according to the latest Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count picked up by one over the past week to reach 18, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of Mar. 3, 2017. That number is down by six year-over-year.

The overall US offshore drilling rig count mirrored the US Gulf of Mexico rig count; that number is also down by six year-over-year.

The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by two week-over-week at 756, with oil rigs up by seven to 609, gas rigs down by five to 146, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at one.

Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is up by 267, with oil rigs up by 217, gas rigs up by 49, and miscellaneous rigs up by one.
