US Gulf of Mexico rig count falls to 17

The US Gulf of Mexico rig count decreased by three over the past week to 17, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of Feb. 17, 2017.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count decreased by three over the past weekto 17, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of Feb. 17, 2017. That number is down by eight year-over-year.

The overall US offshore drilling rig count was also down by three, falling to 18 over the past week. That number is also down by seven year-over-year.

The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by 10 week-over-week at 751, with oil rigs up by six to 597, gas rigs up by four to 153, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at one.

Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is up by 237, with oil rigs up by 184, gas rigs up by 52, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at one.
