US Gulf of Mexico rig count falls to 20

The US Gulf of Mexico rig count decreased by one over the past week to reach 20, according to the latest Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count decreased by one over the past week to reach 20, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of Feb. 10, 2017. That number is down by five year-over-year.

The overall US offshore drilling rig count was also down by one, falling to 21 over the past week. That number is also down by four year-over-year.

The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by 12 week-over-week at 741, with oil rigs up by eight to 591, gas rigs up by four to 149, and miscellaneous rigs up by one.

Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is up by 200, with oil rigs up by 152, gas rigs up by 47, and miscellaneous rigs up by one.
