SINGAPORE – Keppel Shipyard has held a naming ceremony for a spread-moored FPSO, commissioned by Yinson Production (West Africa) for Eni’s Offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP) development offshore Ghana.
TheJohn Agyekum Kufuor is the yard’s 27th conversion project for an Africa development. It was named after Ghana’s former president, who was present at the ceremony.
The vessel, which will operate on theSankofa-Gye Nyame field in the Tano basin, is due to arrive in Ghana in April.
It has an oil treatment capacity of 58,000 b/d, storage for 1.7 MMbbl, and a gas treatment capacity of up to 210 MMcf/d.
Additional facilities include a water injection module operating at up to 55,000 b/d and gas injection of up to 150 MMcf/d. The FPSO is designed for 20 years of service without dry docking and can be moored in an average water depth of 1,000 m (3,281 ft), with a total topsides weight of almost 15,000 metric tons (16,535 tons).
Keppel Shipyard performed modification work, installation of new equipment with associated piping, electrical and instrumental systems, and installation and integration of the process topsides.
Eighteen subsea wells will be connected to the FPSO, with a 63-km (39-mi) pipeline taking gas to the shore for use in thermal power plants.
Eni is the OCTP block’s operator with a 44.44% stake. The other partners are Vitol with 35.56% and GNPC with 20%.
