ABU DHABI, UAEGulf Marine Services has secured a long-term contract for one of its mid-size self-propelled, self-elevating four-legged support vessels in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region.

The three-year charter, due to start shortly, involves providing well intervention support for a national oil company.

CEO Duncan Anderson said: “We are seeing an increase in tender opportunities in the Middle East…The new charter, which together with other recent contract wins has increased our total backlog by approximately two-thirds since Nov. 1, 2016, demonstrates that the market is showing clear signs of recovery.”
