BHP expands EM&I’s inspection duties to Pyrenees FPSO

BHP Billiton Petroleum has contracted EM&I for inspection management services for the Macedon gas plant and the Pyrenees FPSO offshore Western Australia.

WILMSLOW, UKBHP Billiton Petroleum has contracted EM&I for inspection management services for the Macedon gas plant and the Pyrenees FPSO offshore Western Australia.

The AUD $8.2-million ($6.12-million), three-year contract is in addition to services that EM&I already provides at the Minerva gas plant.

It includes two one-year extension options and covers a range of conventional and specialist inspection services, to be managed from the company’s offices in Perth.

TheFPSOPyrenees Venture is capable of processing 96,000 b/d of oil, combined gas lift/re-injection capacity of 60 MMcf/d, and has an oil storage capacity of 850,000 bbl. The FPSO is installed in 200 m (656 ft) water depth in the Exmouth sub-basin portion of the Carnarvon basin.
