ION to certify Mexican reserves

Mexico’s National Hydrocarbons Commission has approved ION Geophysical Corp. to conduct reserve audits.

HOUSTON – Mexico's National Hydrocarbons Commission has approved ION Geophysical Corp.’s local entity to conduct reserve audits.

ION says it is now one of seven independent agencies registered to audit and certifyMexico's reserves estimates.

Brian Horn, senior vice president of ION's E&P Advisors group, stated: “We are pleased to provide our broad range of services to enable companies to successfully explore and produce oil and gas in Mexico. ION's geoscience and engineering staff have over 200 years of E&P experience at all levels of evaluation.”

Days ago, the company also released major news concerning operations in another region:North Sea operators selected its in-field acquisition optimization services for all time-lapse, or 4D, towed streamer projects for the 2016 North Sea season.

Experience and proprietary technology were key to the award of five 4D projects, which include real-time survey line planning and quality control for fields in the North Sea offshore the United Kingdom, Norway, and Denmark.
