TEHRAN, Iran – Crude oil output from the Abuzar field in the Persian Gulf has risen by more than 12,000 b/d, following the restoration of operations at platform AA.

This is one of various platforms serving the field in the Kharg oil region, linked by subsea flexible pipelines to the central AB platform.

All AA’s oil wells are now back in service, Saeed Hafezi, managing director ofIranian Offshore Oil Co. (IOOC), told news service Shana.

Operations had been suspended due to a problem in the pipelines which Iranian technicians eventually rectified.

Last week, the 2,700-ton Phase 19 platform 19A was set to be installed at theSouth Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf.

OncePhase 19, close to the median line with Qatari waters, is fully operational, it should add 2 bcf/d to the field’s daily production.

Last weekend, deputy head of the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Co. Rahim Tabrizi told Shana he expected the Phase 21 platform to be installed once conditions in the area allow.
