US Gulf of Mexico rig count picks up by one

The US Gulf of Mexico rig count has increased by one to 21 over last week, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of June 17, 2016.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count has increased by one to 21 over last week, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of June 17, 2016. That number is down by six compared to last year.

The overallUS offshore drilling rig count remained unchanged at 21 over last week, as the offshore Alaska rig count decreased by one, offsetting the increase in the GoM.

The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up 10 week-over-week at 424, with oil rigs up nine at 337, gas rigs up one to 86, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at one.

Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is down 443 rigs, with oil rigs down 294, gas rigs down 137, and miscellaneous rigs down two.
