Aker to analyze North Sea Utgard tie-in needs

Statoil has awarded Aker Solutions’ maintenance, modifications, and operations business in Norway preliminary engineering work for a tie-in of the Utgard gas/condensate field to the Sleipner complex in the North Sea.

FORNEBU, NorwayStatoil has awarded Aker Solutions’ maintenance, modifications, and operations (MMO) business in Norway preliminary engineering work for a tie-in of the Utgard gas/condensate field to the Sleipner complex in the North Sea.

This concerns platform modifications ahead of the tie-in. Statoil may also exercise an option for engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning services for the platform modifications, to be decided later this year by the license partners.

Aker Solutions’ MMO unit in Stavanger will perform the assignment, having worked on a series ofmodification projects for Statoil at Sleipner over the past five years.
