Eni finds gas at Nooros in Nile Delta

Eni has discovered gas in the Nooros prospect in the Abu Madi West license offshore Egypt’s Nile Delta.

SAN DONATO MILANESE, ItalyEni has discovered gas in the Nooros prospect in the Abu Madi West license offshore Egypt’s Nile Delta.

Earlier this year the company secured operatorship of two more concessions in the Egyptian sector of the Mediterranean Sea, covering the Karawan and North Leil blocks.

Elsewhere, Angola’s authorities have approved a three-year extension of Eni’s exploration activities on offshore block 15/06, where oil production started late last year.

The company has also reaffirmed its growing commitment to UK offshore E&P, with recent awards of fourexploration licenses in the UK central North Sea and three in the southern gas basin. Eni (then known as AGIP), originally developed the T-block fields in the UK northern North Sea, currently operated by Canadian Natural.

Offshore Indonesia, Eni says its evaluation of the deep offshoreMerakes discovery in the East Sepinngan block has led to a significant upgrade of the in-place gas.

It has decided to bring forward an appraisal campaign with a view to a fasttrack development linked to infrastructure at its nearbyJangkrik field.
