ATHENS, Greece –Dolphin Geophysical has  completed a new 3D seismic survey for Energean Oil & Gas over the Prinos oil field and its surrounding licenses in the Gulf of Kavala off northeastern Greece.

During the survey, which lasted 23 days, data from an area of around 340 sq km (131 sq mi) was acquired on 82 sail lines (eight streamers, 5,100 m or 16,732 ft long) over the Prinos producing oil field. The coverage included an undershooting operation.

The first phase of fasttrack processing has already started and will last six weeks. It will be followed by a second phase of full processing which is planned to last six months, while the final phase of the seismic data interpretation will last about four months.

Through the new 3D acquisition,Energean aims to improve the seismic imaging of the Prinos field and its satellite fields, Prinos North and Epsilon; improve imaging of the prospects already identified; and identify new prospects within the Prinos basin.
