OSLO, Norway – Statoil has approval from Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway to use the new jackup Maersk Integrator at the Gina Krog development in the central Norwegian North Sea.
The rig, delivered from the Keppel Shipyard in Singapore last year, will drill and complete 14 production wells on the Gina Krog oil and gas field, 250 km (155 mi) west of Stavanger and 30 km (18.6 mi) northwest of the Sleipner A complex.
Statoil has commissioned a new steel platform and an 850,000-bbl oil storage vessel for the development, to be located in 110 m (361 ft) of water.
Additionally, PSA has sanctioned ConocoPhillips’s request to use theMaersk Gallant to P&A a production well at the Eldfisk 2/7 A platform.
Eldfisk is an oil field south of Ekofisk in the southern Norwegian North Sea, in 70-75 m (230-246 ft) of water.
