MEXICO CITY – An accident on a PEMEX jackup rig in the Gulf of Mexico's Bay of Campeche is reported to have killed two workers. The rig, Troll Solution, was conducting maintenance on wells to the Caan Alf platform at the time, according to the Reuters report.

Oilfield services firm Typhoon Offshore, owned by Grupo Salinas and operator of the platform, has said the platform had been completely evacuated

Reuters has noted that there are conflicting reports about additional injuries, with Typhoon saying 10 workers were injured while local media put the injured toll at 28 workers.

A Grupo Salinas spokesperson added that there was no oil or gas spilled as a nearby well was closed prior to the incident.
