Spike details offshore Norway license awards

Spike Exploration Holding has secured four licenses under the 2014 Norwegian APA (Awards in Pre-defined Areas) License Round.

STAVANGER, Norway – Spike Exploration Holding has secured four licenses under the 2014 Norwegian APA (Awards in Pre-defined Areas) License Round.

Three are in theNorth Sea and one on the Haltenbanken in the Norwegian Sea. Work commitments include reprocessing of seismic and acquisition of existing or new 3D seismic. All are to be followed by a drill-or-drop decision.

PL775: Spike 20%, Tullow Oil Norge 40% and operator, Concedo 20%, Petoro 20%. The location is east of the Sleipner fields and southwest of the Johan Sverdrup discovery.

PL777: Spike 20%, Det norske oljeselskap 40% and operator, Wintershall Norge 20%, Petoro 20%. This license is north of the Sleipner fields and east of the Glitne field.

PL790: Spike 25%, Det norske 50% and operator, Capricorn Norge 25%. The acreage is northwest of the Garantiana and Akkar Updip discoveries in PL554, where Spike has a 30% stake. Nearby fields are Visund and Snorre.

PL797: Spike 25%, Lotos Exploration and Production Norge 30% and operator, Svenska Petroleum Exploration 25%, Petoro 20%. The license is east of the Spinell discovery in PL690 (Spike 40%) and west of the producing Mikkel field.
