SYDNEY, Australia –AWE Ltd (ASX: AWE) advises that the operator of block 09/05, ROC Oil Co. Ltd (ASX: ROC), has updated the current exploration drilling activity for block 09 /05 in the western Bohai Bay basin offshore China.
On Sept. 7, ROC Oil (Bohai) Co. drilled theQK11-1-1 well to a TD of 4,377 m (14,360 ft) MD and 3,862 m (12,671 ft) TVD. Logging has been completed and plans for well abandonment are under way.
The well did not confirm the presence of commercial hydrocarbons. QK11-1-1 was drilled 15 km (9 mi) north of ROC's existing Zhao Dong block using the CPOERig 33 located
The joint venture partners in block 09/05 are AWE, 40%, and ROC Oil, 60%.
