Nexen to tie in second North Sea Blackbird well

Initial testing from the second Blackbird field production well in the UK central North Sea has achieved sustained rates of over 7,000 b/d of oil.

TORSHAN, Faroe Islands --Initial testing from the second Blackbird field production well in the UK central North Sea has achieved sustained rates of over 7,000 b/d of oil. Production was constrained by surface equipment according to partner Atlantic Petroleum.

The NobleTon V Langeveld drilled the 20/02a-B3 well, operated by Nexen Petroleum UK.

The well will be tied into theAoka Mizu FPSO facilities and full production should start following a planned shutdown.
