Naga 3 jackup arrives in Vietnam

The Fairmount Expedition tug has towed the Naga 3 jackup 575 mi (925 km) from Labuan, Malaysia, to the PV Marine Shipyard in Vung Tau, Vietnam.

ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands – The Fairmount Expedition tug has towed the Naga 3 jackup 575 mi (925 km) from Labuan, Malaysia, to the PV Marine Shipyard in Vung Tau, Vietnam.

During the voyage the tug used only two of its four main engines,Fairmount points out.

The 70-m (229-ft) highNaga 3 is a Gusto MSC CJ46-X100-D design jackup, built in 2010 by Dubai’s Drydocks World and owned by UMW Petropipe/Singapore Drilling. It can drill to depths of up to 9,144 m (≈30,000 ft).

At Vung Tau it will undergo preparations for an assignment offshoreVietnam for the Japan Vietnam Petroleum Co.
