HOUSTON – Endeavour says a stuck valve in a subsea manifold serving the Rochelle gas/condensate field in the UK North Sea is re-opened.
The East (E2) well has since started production and the West (W1) well is expected to come online in a few days. Both connect to the Nexen-operated Scott platform.
Elsewhere in the sector, the company is a partner with Apache in theBacchus field, where oil production at the end of last year exceeded 10,000 b/d of oil.
The first Bacchus well (B3Y) is likely to be converted to a water injector this spring for pressure support to help sustain the field’s production and increase overall recovery.
The partners are processing a 3D seismic survey acquired last year to identify more development opportunities.
At the Chevron-operatedAlba field (Endeavour 25.685%), the partners are addressing water handling and other operational issues. A problem occurred in the subsea water injection pipeline supplying pressure to the field’s southern area, resulting in part of this area being shut-in.
At the end of 2013 Alba’s exit rate was 18,500 b/d, lower than expected. Remedial action is under way to reinstate partial water injection to offset some of the reduction, and the partners are targeting a permanent replacement of the pipeline later this year.
Alba’s production should be boosted by a newly onstream development well and two more wells are expected to be drilled during 2014.
Chevron North Sea has awarded Wood Group PSN a one year-extension to its operations and maintenance contract for the Alba North platform, the Captain wellhead and production platform, and the Captain FPSO.
In November, Chevron granted the contractor a similar extension for an engineering and construction contract for both fields.
WGPSN has serviced the facilities under this program since 2009.
