Subsea 7 has won a $140 million contract with Mexico’s state oil company Pemex for work at the Line 60 project in the Bay of Campeche.

LUXEMBOURG – Subsea 7 has won a $140 million contract with Mexico’s state oil company Pemex for work at the Line 60 project in the Bay of Campeche.

The contract – the first for Subsea 7’s Mexican joint venture ­– covers the engineering, fabrication and installation of a 16-km (10-mi) pipe, two slug catchers and two cantilever structures for the Line 60 project.

Project management and engineering services are underway at the company’s Ciudad del Carmen, Mexico, and Houston offices. Offshore operations will begin in 1Q 2013. Pipelay operations will take place in 3Q 2013 using theSeven Borealis vessel.
