DUBLIN, Ireland – GSP Offshore’s GSP Prometeujackup has returned to its operations base in Constanta after drilling the Cobalcescu South-1 exploration well in Romanian Black Sea block Ex-28 for Petroceltic International.

The stay will take in unscheduled maintenance works, and will likely delay spudding of theMuridava-1 well for the same operator on block Ex-27 until end-March 2014.

This well will be drilled on the same geologic trend as the Olimpiskaya and Eugenia gas discoveries, with multiple reservoir targets in the Eocene, Palaeocene, and Cretaceous formations. Petroceltic estimates combined unrisked P50 prospective resources at 170 bcf of gas (4.8 bcm).

Drilling should take just under two months. The well will be drilled to a TD of around 2,500 m (8,202 ft).
