HONG KONG – CNOOC has started production from the Qikou 18-1 adjustment project in the western part of Bohai Bay.
TheQikou 18-1 oil field is in an average water depth of 10 m (33 ft). To make full use of the existing producing facilities, CNOOC added a “plug-in” processing facility and two production platforms.
These additions are expected to improve the field’s production and overall processing capability, the company adds. Peak production should follow in 2014.
