NORTH SYDNEY, AustraliaPan Pacific Petroleum says the CRD-3X appraisal well in block 07/03 off southern Vietnam has flowed oil and gas from Miocene reservoirs.

TheOcean General rig is performing the flow tests which should be followed by a side track to test a structure within the CRD field, south of CRD-3X. This side track will target additional productive Miocene reservoir.

Both the well and side track are designed to resolve resource uncertainties in the Cá Rồng Đỏ (CRD) oil and gas/condensate discovery, and to prove sufficient volumes to justify a development. The field contains oil and gas in Miocene sands, and condensate-rich gas in underlying Oligocene sands.

After completing operations,Ocean General will relocate to the west of the block to drill a well on the Silver Sillago prospect.
