Premier awards North Sea intervention, asset integrity contracts

Premier Oil has awarded two contracts in support of its North Sea operations.

LONDON – Premier Oil has awarded two contracts in support of its North Sea operations.

Island Offshore will provide light well intervention (LWI) services with the North Sea RLWI Alliance, which operates three monohull vessels designed for well intervention tasks.

The agreement covers activity such as wireline services, with work to be performed by the 120-m (393-ft) long, 8,200-ton Ulstein built X-Bow vesselIsland Constructor.

Additionally, Premier has contractedGL Noble Denton to provide asset integrity advice and inspection services for the company’s UK-operated offshore assets.

Services will include inspection management, risk analysis, examination support and non-destructive testing to a range of production and processing facilities.

A team of engineers will support the program based at Premier Oil and GL Noble Denton’s Aberdeen offices. They will include senior integrity, corrosion and structural engineers, project and planning engineers, offshore inspection engineers and technical assistants.

Previously GL Noble Denton undertook structural services on Premier’sBalmoral floating production vessel in the central UK North Sea.
