OSLO, Norway – DNO continues well remediation work on the West Bukha field in block 8 offshore Oman.

This spring the company completed interventions on the West Bukha-5 and West Bukha-3 wells. The Wasia reservoir interval in West Bukha-5 was perforated and successfully stimulated leading to strong flow rates.

However, despite perforation and acid treatment, the West Bukha-3 well intervention had insufficient pressure to flow across the test vessel. The well is being monitored with a view to flow it at a later date if pressures increase sufficiently.

In December, DNO aims to finish reprocessing of 3D seismic data over the West Bukha field. A review of the reservoir model has started to assess potential new drilling targets and exploration opportunities in block 8.

Offshore Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, DNO has been drilling theSaleh-8 well through the depleted upper reservoirs of the Saleh field. The well has reached its planned total depth in the undeveloped Thamama gas condensate reservoir.

The main aim is to establish early production from the Thamama reservoir through existing facilities by year-end, with production treated at RAK Gas’ onshore processing facility. Following completion and testing of Saleh-8 well, a second well could be drilled either on the Saleh field or on the nearby RAK B oil discovery.

In June, DNO entered into a farm-out agreement for theSfax offshore exploration permit and the Ras El Besh concession, both in the Gulf of Gabes offshore Tunisia.

Assuming approvals, DNO will take an 87.5% operating interest from Atlas Petroleum Exploration Worldwide and Eurogas International.

To date, there are three oil discoveries across the acreage with recoverable contingent resources of 35-60 MMbbl. Additionally, there are 29 prospects that could hold a combined 500-700 MMbbl.

Next year DNO plans to drill exploration/appraisal wells on the Salloum and Jawhara discoveries.
