OSLO, Norway – DNO has completed drilling the Bukha-4 well and side track in block 8 offshore Oman, but initial attempts to stimulate flow have been unsuccessful.

The well remains under observation and the company is assessing options to establish the well as a gas producer.

Late last year DNO brought theWest Bukha-4 and West Bukha-5 wells online, although the latter has been temporarily suspended until a separate identified reservoir interval has been brought onstream. The company also intends to re-enter the West Bukha-3 well to stimulate known reservoir intervals with acid treatment.

Additionally, a review of the block 8 reservoir model has started to evaluate new drilling targets and further exploration potential. This will involve reprocessing existing 3D seismic data.

Offshore Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, DNO started drilling the Saleh-8 well as the first step in a program to redevelop theSaleh field. It is estimated to take 130 days to drill, stimulate, test and complete the well, designed to test the previously undeveloped Thamama reservoir.

The intention is to complete the well as a producer via the existing infrastructure at the field location. Produced volumes will be processed at RAK Gas’ onshore processing facility. Thereafter, DNO may opt to drill either a second well on Saleh or a well on the nearby RAK B oil discovery.
