STRAUME, Norway – BP has agreed to a two-year extension of AGR Enhanced Drilling’s contract in the Azeri sector of the Caspian Sea.

Enhanced Drilling will extend placement of its permanent staff in Baku, along with equipment and facilities. Services provided include AGR’s Riserless Mud Recovery system, which allows use of weighted mud during top-hole drilling with all mud and cuttings returned to the rig, leading to zero discharge to the sea.

Another service is the Managed Pressure Cementing system, which enables isolation of high-pressure, unconsolidated water and gas-bearing formations with cement, even during narrow pressure window scenarios.
