bp expands gas production from Shah Deniz offshore Azerbaijan

bp has started production from the East North flank of the Shah Deniz gas-condensate field offshore Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea.

BAKU, Azerbaijanbp started production from the East North flank of the Shah Deniz gas-condensate field offshore Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea on Feb. 13.

This follows completion of all associated offshore construction and commissioning works.

The development comprises five new wells, two subsea production manifolds, two new flowlines with a total length of about 30 km and various other subsea structures connected to the reservoir.

Shah Deniz's overall production capacity is 79 MMcm/d of gas.
