Woodside sticks to North Rankin start-up forecast

Woodside Petroleum says the North Rankin redevelopment project on Australia’s North West Shelf is on course for start-up later this year.

PERTH, Australia – Woodside Petroleum says the North Rankin redevelopment project on Australia’s North West Shelf is on course for start-up later this year.

Hook-up and commissioning work continue on the North Rankin B platform. The project is targeting 5 tcf (142 bcm) of undeveloped low-pressure gas.

Engineering, procurement, and fabrication activities are also on schedule for the Greater Western Flank Phase 1 project, which is due onstream in early 2016. During 4Q 2013, Woodside expects to complete the two Goodwyn GH wells and to start pipeline installation.

Offshore Myanmar, processing continues of thePadauk 3D seismic survey for Woodside’s block A-6, acquired during 1Q 2013. Results are expected early next year.

Later this year the company plans to acquire more than 1,000 sq km (386 sq mi) of 3D seismic in the deepwater portion of block AD-7.
