NW Australia projects coming together

Woodside Energy (WPL:AU) has provided an update on its development projects offshore Northwest Australia.

PERTH, Australia – Woodside Energy (WPL:AU) has provided an update on its development projects offshore Northwest Australia.

The North Rankin A andNorth Rankin B control systems for the North Rankin redevelopment project have been integrated and power generation is operating on North Rankin B. Hook up and commissioning continues. The project remains on budget and on schedule for completion in 2013.

Engineering, procurement, and fabrication are progressing as planned for theGreater Western Flank Phase 1 project. Development drilling started in 3Q 2012. The project remains on budget and on schedule for completion in 2016.

As for Sunrise LNG in the Timor Sea, following provision of requested technical data to the Timor-Leste government, further discussions were held last month and a timetable agreed on with the government for the first of a series of technical workshops.

Woodside says that the co-venturers and governments of both Timor-Leste and Australia all agree over the need to develop the Greater Sunrise offshore fields, and that through regular, open and constructive dialogue, a mutually beneficial development outcome can be achieved.

Another leading Australian operator, BHP Billiton, says the offshore production facilities for theKipper gas field in the Bass Strait offshore Victoria have been completed and are ready to start production, pending resolution of mercury content issues.
