NORTH SYDNEY, Australia – The semisubmersible Ocean General has spudded the Ca Voi-1X exploration well in block 121 offshore Vietnam for operator Origin Energy (Song Hong).
According to partner PanPacific Petroleum, the 121-CV-1X well will evaluate the hydrocarbon potential of the Whale prospect, an unconformity and tilted fault trap, targeting Oligocene clastic reservoirs.
Water depth is 270 m (886 ft). Planned drilling depth is 3,771 m (12,372 ft) BRT (below rotary table).
