OSLO, Norway – The Noble Roy Rhodes rig is mobilizing to start redevelopment of the Saleh field offshore the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

According to operator DNO, Saleh-8, the first well to be drilled, is designed as a horizontal well targeting oil in the previously untapped Thamama reservoir.

Offshore Oman in block 8, DNO plans a two-well intervention program to optimize performance from theWest Bukha field.

After producing around 0.5 MMbbl of oil from a lower interval, theWest Bukha-5 well has been suspended temporarily until another interval can be brought on production later this month. Additionally, there will be an attempt to start oil production from another as yet unperforated interval in the West Bukha-3 well.

The company has also completed drilling of a new development well on the main Bukha field, Buka-4, as a gas producer. Current production from block 8 averages 13,000 b/d of oil and condensate and 50 MMcf/d (1.4 MMcm/d) of gas.
