MUSCAT, Oman -- Circle Oil has invited tenders for an infill 2D seismic survey over the nearshore area of Sawqirah Bay in block 52 offshore Oman.
The company has identifiedthree large leads in the shallow water part of Sawqirah Bay, and wants to shoot further seismic as soon as possible to develop the leads into drillable prospects.
It has drawn up further drilling candidates on the same block in the little-explored outer Sawqirah Bay, following interpretation of an additional 5,027 line km (3,123 mi) of 2D seismic,
Circle says the shallow-water leads could be drilled on a sole-risk basis, but it hopes to bring in a partner to drill an exploration well. The company has started a farm-out process, having set up adata room for interested observers.
