Saab unveils indoor ROV test tank

Saab Seaeye has opened what it says is the world’s largest indoor test facility dedicated to the development of unmanned underwater vehicles.

LINKOPING, Sweden – Saab Seaeye has opened what it says is the world’s largest indoor test facility dedicated to the development of unmanned underwater vehicles.

The test tank in Linköping, Sweden, will be used for trials and tests of new underwater systems in a controlled environment, as opposed to in a lake or at sea.

The tank is 6 m (19.7 ft) deep, 10 m (33 ft) in diameter and holds about 470 cu m (124,161 gal.) of water.
